It has been a busy week at our Nursery. They had canaries in class this week. The Oral Health Team came to show the children how to brush their teeth and discussed foods that are good and bad for your teeth. We have also been observing signs of autumn.
In Year 1, we were sat in our classrooms getting on with our work when we suddenly heard a loud bang! We quickly put on our coats and headed outside. When we got into our school yard, we saw an alien spaceship had crashed. Can you believe it? We looked around for the alien, but we could not find it. We then decided to have a look inside the school and we saw footprints. We followed the footprints around the school but the alien was nowhere to be seen! We are still looking for it, so if you see it let the Year 1 children know!
Well done to our Stars of the Week!

Upcoming trips/visits …..
On Wednesday 13th November 2019, Year 2 children will be going on a trip to Knowsley Safari Park in Prescot. In the next half term, children will be learning about animals and their habitats so the aim of the trip is to connect the children with the natural world and bring learning to life. The children will take part in a range of educational activities including a workshop, guided safari coach tour and a guided foot safari tour.
As part of this visit involves being outdoors, we ask that on this day children wear sensible shoes and an appropriate waterproof jacket. Please be aware that children will still be expected to wear school uniform on this day.
Children will be leaving at 8.30 am and returning approximately for 3.30pm. Children will have to be in school no later than 8.15 am, as we will be leaving promptly.
School will provide a packed lunch for the trip.
We no longer give out travel sickness tablets. If your child is travel sick, any tablets/medicine should be given at home
Please complete and return the attached permission slip. The cost of the trip is £15 please make a payment on ParentPay before Friday 8th November 2019.

Ranger Rob will be visiting us in our classrooms so we will not be leaving the school building.
Children will have to be in school at the correct time, ready for Ranger Rob to begin promptly at 9.00am.

Year 3 teachers Mrs Oldham, Miss Nisar, Mrs Bather, Mrs Bukhari
As part of our Topic work this term, Year 4 classes will be going on a trip to Liverpool Maritime Museum on 19th, 20th, 21st November 2019. The trip will give the children the chance to investigate migration from Britain and explore experiences of migrants in New York. In order for us to arrive at the museum at an appropriate time, we need your children to arrive at school for 8:00am. We are expecting to be back at school at 3.30pm, but we will send you a text when we are about 20 minutes away. Children must be picked up from the front playground. If your child is usually sick during travel, please ensure you give your children a sickness tablet before they arrive at school on the day of the trip. As usual, full school uniform and sensible shoes need to be worn. If your child normally has a packed lunch, they will need to pay for a school packed lunch. For children normally having school meals, lunch will be provided
As part of our Topic work this year, Year 5 will be going on an Orienteering trip to Rivington, Bolton, on Thursday 14th November 2019. The trip will give the children the chance to use their map skills which they will acquire in Geography to get them to a set location.
In order for us to arrive at the activity centre with enough time to complete the tasks set we will need to leave the school at 8.30am prompt, therefore we will need all children to arrive at school for 8:00am. All the activities will be complete by 1.00pm so we hope to return to school by 2.30pm meaning they will be here for the normal 3.15pm pick up from the back playground. If your child is usually sick during travel, please ensure you give your children a sickness tablet before they arrive at school on the day of the trip.
As the children will be working outdoors, they will need to wear appropriate clothing for the time of year. This includes; waterproof coat and bottoms, jumper, thick trousers (jogging bottoms), waterproof footwear (wellies or walking boots – not trainers), hat, scarf and gloves. Please also bring a rucksack with a change of shoes (trainers) to change into afterwards.
All children will be provided with a grab bag for lunch. Those who normally have packed lunch must pay £2.20 via the parent pay app.
We are asking for a £10 contribution towards the cost of this trip. If you have any questions about the trip, please feel free to contact us at school.
Please fill out the permission slip at the bottom of the letter and return to your child’s class teacher no later than Tuesday 29th October 2019. Please pay via Parent pay.
We are really looking forward to this trip and we are sure that the children will enjoy it too.
