Newsletter 6th December

This week parents of Reception children came to school to join their children for lunch. Parents and children really enjoyed their lunches and hearing about what the children have been doing in school.

Forest School – Last week there was a beautiful frosty morning in the woods.  The children knew that ice was making the leaves sparkle and we used the word ‘frost’ to describe it too.  We made a huge breath cloud too because our breath was warmer than the outside air.  To keep warm we played ‘Bird tig’ and ‘Catch the Bird’ round our fire circle.  The hot drinks warmed our hands and tummies.  Then we looked for birds’ nests- we can see them now the leaves have fallen from the trees- there are three close to our wood.  A magpie, a seagull and a robin flew over so we made cardboard roll bird feeders covered in bird seed to hang in the trees.  It took ages for the popcorn to pop over the fire, then it was sent in to school as an after lunch treat!  Ellie, Two Hoots Outdoor Learning

Year 5 have been attempting to impersonate Peter Brown who is the author and illustrator of our class text. We have been both writing and drawing in the same style, it’s clear we have some children who will definitely work in publishing when they are older!

This is a full day trip and we will be travelling by coach.  Please make sure your child arrives at school punctually at 8:50am and is wearing their school uniform.  Your child will be back at school in time to be collected at 3.15 p.m.  However, please be prepared in case we are a few minutes late – sometimes the traffic can cause delays. If there is a significant delay we will notify parents via text message.

All children will receive a free packed lunch from school to take with them.
