Newsletter 20th December

Father Christmas came to the Nursery on the day of our Christmas party. The children had a magical time dancing and playing party games and enjoying a special Christmas lunch. Father Christmas arrived and the children sang him some of their favourite festive songs.  He gave them each a present before going back home with his reindeers.

Year 2 would like to thank all parents for all their support and coming to watch the performance of Whoopsy Daisy Angel. The children really enjoyed it and all worked so hard.

Year 1 went on a walk to explore the local area and identify the different local landmarks we had looked at/discussed in class. The children all had a map each and used them to follow along the route. Each time we reached a landmark the children ticked it off and told me which landmark we had reached, We stopped at various places including Heybrook school, the fire station, Lloyds pharmacy, Londis (corner shop), the post office, Heybrook river and the church.

We say a fond farewell to Mrs Illingworth (Buttercup class) we wish her well in her new job.  We welcome back Mr Tomkinson after the holidays .

Year 2’s topic next term is focusing on gender equality and inclusion alongside lots of other exciting things.  For the children’s homework we would like them to make a tower out of anything you may have at home like kitchen rolls, plastic bottles, newspaper etc. This project will link into our theme work.   Feel free to let your child use their imagination. Below are some ideas to help your child create their own amazing tower.

Please send the completed homework in on Monday 6th January 2019. We are really looking forward to seeing what the children create. They will also be used in our class display.   Thank you for your support – Mr Tomkinson, Miss Stringfellow and Mrs Rahman  (Year 2 teachers)
