The Year 6 children who are going to watch Rochdale play Manchester United on Wednesday 25th  they must be in school for 5.45pm.   We are expected to return at 10.30pm.

As part of our Topic work this year, Year 4 will be going on a trip to the Grosvenor Museum in Chester on Friday 4th October 2019. The trip will give the children the chance to investigate the Romanisation of Britain and explore life in Roman Chester.  In order for us to arrive at the museum at an appropriate time, we need the children to arrive at school for 8:00am.  We are expecting to be back at school at 4.00pm.    Children must be picked up from the front playground. If your child is usually sick during travel, please ensure you give your children a sickness tablet before they arrive at school on the day of the trip.

As usual, full school uniform and sensible shoes need to be worn.  If your child normally has a packed lunch, they will need to bring their lunch as normal.  For children normally having school meals, lunch will be provided.  We are asking for a £12 contribution towards the cost of this trip.  If you have any questions about the trip, please feel free to contact us at school. Please fill out the permission slip at the bottom of the letter and return to your child’s class teacher no later than Friday 27th September 2019.

Please pay via Parentpay.

Year 4 are really looking forward to this trip and we are sure that the children will enjoy it too. Mrs Rudette, Mrs Towsey and Mrs Kauser

Year 3 are going on their Evacuee Experience – Jade and Green are going on Wednesday 25th. Emerald are going on Thursday 26th. We have been learning all about world war 2 and the children are excited to find out more about what it was like to be an evacuee. Please remember to send your child in evacuee clothes on the days of the trip and be in school for 8.50am.  If you have not yet paid please pay on ParentPay.

Forest School

The first half of Red class joined me in the woods this week in their super waterproof dungarees and wellies.  They were brilliant!  We played games to learn names, to take turns and have fun.  We also practised walking round the outside of our pretend fire circle.  We did an Un-nature trail- looking for things that don’t belong in a wood- and we found all the objects like a ball, a fork, a jar and a rubber duck. It’s Autumn now- we found nibbled hazel nuts where the squirrels have been busy and felt the furry leaves on the hazel tree.  The children filled up their own drink cups and shared apples- they are ripe at this time of year too.  We all learned some important rules to keep us safe too.  Ask your child if s/he can remember any.  Thank you for sending your children in so happy to explore with me.  Elli e- Two Hoots Outdoor Learning
