More of red class joined me last week.  We made name amulets from wood cookies- everyone tried using the drill to make a hole and some children wrote their own name whilst other drew pictures on their wooden circle.  We had lots to explore…woodland stories in the willow dome; a bug hunting kit- we found a beautiful shield bug on someone’s head; a hammock to try and a den building kit.  I’m looking forward to next time when the children can explore these activities further.  We had fun and a great taster of what’s possible in a session.  There were lots of smiles.

Year 3 had an amazing time at the East Lancashire Railway. We experienced what it would have been like to be an evacuee and travel on a steam train to the countryside. We also went into two museums to look closely at some artefacts from world war two!

As part of our Topic work this year, Year 4 will be going on a trip to the Grosvenor Museum in Chester on Friday 4th October 2019. The trip will give the children the chance to investigate the Romanisation of Britain and explore life in Roman Chester.

In order for us to arrive at the museum at an appropriate time, we need the children to arrive at school for 8:00am.  We are expecting to be back at school at 4.00pm.  The cost of the trip is £12 please pay by ParentPay.

If your child suffers from travel sicknesss please can you given them motion sickness tablets (Kwells) from home.  School will not provide or administer sickness tablets.

We are collecting food for our harvest festival, please send in tins, packets, household goods or toiletries.  It will be collected week ending 11th October by the Rochdale Food Bank.
